Here's to midnight walks on city streets, and the shelter of young love.
To science that builds better lives and things we know nothing of.
To odd slobs and office snobs who roam the streets by day,
And to the shady predators that take their lives away.
Here's to urban legend and successful dumpster dives.
And Here's to sharing two square miles with thousands of other lives.
Here's to all the coffee bars not more than five feet apart,
To the homeless man who's begging right outside the liquor mart.
From summer jazz to choir voices in the city air,
From holiday to holiday there's bustle everywhere.
So here's to the love of city life and all those who share in it.
Where people live not day to day but minute by precious minute.
